Without aiming to provide a definite answer to this question, I want to engage in a dialogue about it. With the goal of externalizing this dialogue and generating new perspectives, I open the door to the discipline of
art: through theoretical research, I find a strong parallel between the concerns that the (art) system provoked in the authors of the 20th-century Avant-Gardes and those that the (fashion) system provokes in me, as well as how, through these systems, disciplines become products. Therefore, without attempting to equate the two, I draw on the methods of these artistic movements—both theo- retically and conceptually—translating their language into fashion.
